'Lots happening around town! Call(s) for Vendors!

Hi, Everyone! Your local vendor girl checking in... I just wanted to give you a heads up on the events that are going on in and around our neighborhood in the near future! If you are a vendor, if you are crafty, or if you know someone who is, you might like the following info!

Fremont Bridge in Fall...
9.29.10: PDX ETSY Meeting
Tonight, Tuesday September 29th, there's a PDX Etsy event at Environments / 707 SE Belmont @ 7pm. $5 at the door provides refreshments!  I'll be joining the fearless PDX Etsy leaders, Janelle and Nicole, for an evening of resource sharing. If you'd like to participate, please let Nicole know - she can be reached at nmkluthe@gmail.com. If you cannot join us tomorrow night, please drop Nicole a line to be put on the list for future events - it's a great way to meet and network with other artists in the area, share information, and get your name out there!

10.08.10 & 10.09.10: Fremont/BBA Harvest Fest
Friday, October 8 from 5pm - 9pm and Saturday, October 9 from 10am- 5pm is the Fremont Harvest Festival! Lots of new and exciting developments for this event, most notably that the PR and advertising for this (and our future events) is now being handled by Mandy Zelinka and Nicole Whitesell, a dynamic duo. They are absolutely all over the advertising and PR, and very well connected. I can't wait to see what transpires, but rest assured that this event has tons of coverage, and has already been noted in Portland Picks Facebook site, there's a new website for the BBA up (www.beaumontbba.com) that will include a list of all vendors participating, and there will be additional advertising in local papers. We're still going strong on Facebook (Beaumont Business Association) and Twitter (@beaumontbizpdx) Captured by Porches Brewing Co, Wanderlust Mobile Vintage, Pacific NW artist Sally Reichlin, and local food carts are all participants. We'll have a pumpkin patch, kids costume portraits and costume contest, and games and activities for kids and families... The restaurants on our street will be welcoming visitors with specials, and our three newest additions, Barile Wine Bar, Noho Hawaiian and Bottles NW are now open! Vendor spaces are still only $15 - we strive to make this a vendor-friendly event, and want as many of you who can to participate! If you haven't already sent in your application, I'm attaching one here to this email. If you have any questions at all about the vendor opportunities, please don't hesitate to contact me at emilyd13@gmail.com.

You can download the BBA Events Vendor Application here.

And, for those who may not have gotten into Crafty Wonderland, or who are looking for more holiday events in which to participate, these are the events on my radar:

11.12.10
November 2nd Friday on NE Fremont as hosted by the Beaumont Business Association... Our monthly event from 5 pm - 9 pm, drawing friends and neighbors into the streets of our sweet neighborhood... We have lots of exciting new restaurants open - this is a perfect time to get a jump on the holiday shopping crowd!

11.14.10
Abernethy Craft Fair
"Art & Craft Sale Fundraiser Sun, Nov 14th, 11-4pm: looking for artists & crafters.  Individual vendors take care of their own transactions.  20% goes to the school.  This is a juried event. Check out last years' poster; www.artcraftfair.org,  with links to artists websites.  This year we are hoping to add 9 artist high res photos to the poster and postcard.  Advertising will include, but not be limited to website, internal school marketing, Facebook, DIY- Alert News, SE Examiner, The Bee, Craig's List,  postcards, posters & banner. We have space for approx 50+ vendors, so this will be a nice event! Email Abernethycraftfair@yahoo.com to request the vendor application, as well as the vendor agreement. Applications are due Friday, October 1st." Your vendor contact for this event is Elita Hill of Ginza Girl Skirts.

12.03.10 through 12.05.10 5th Annual Holiday Bazaar - a great tradition in my neck of the woods, this intimate & well attended event is held in the NE Portland neighborhood of Alameda. Email Andrea Sten for more information: asten@hevanet.com

12.04.10 Laurelhurst School Winter Artisan Bazaar 9 am - 5 pm - email Violet Craft for more information at laurelhurstschoolbazaar@gmail.com:  Marketing... bigger, better and more! We will again continue our print advertisement in the Oregonian's list of holiday bazaars as well as our email marketing campaign with Portland Picks. Last year we distributed 5000 postcards by hand to every house in Laurelhurst. This year there will be 10,000 postcards available to distribute and are available for you to distribute as well. We are bringing on a PR volunteer to get us on every social calendar we can find. Advertisements are starting to pop up in Upcoming Events listings around town and our marketing team is busily preparing to distribute those 10000 postcards and many posters around Portland. We again have a team of volunteers canvassing the Laurelhurst neighborhood door to door with postcards as well. There will be an advertisement in the upcoming Oregonian bazaar's listing and Portland Picks will be "picking" us on Friday before the event.

We expect a very busy turnout for the day! Last year we were PACKED all day long and we've expanded our space this year to allow for even more shoppers! We know that there will be a limited number of open spaces this year and hope to fill them with the best of the best! We are taking applications from the community at large, but if you know of someone that you think would be perfect for the event, please pass along Violet's information to them or their information to Violet :) The application is available here.

12.10.10 (possibly through 12.12.10) December Holiday event on NE Fremont street in conjunction with 2nd Friday in December, hosted by the Beaumont Business Association - details will be announced as they develop - let me know if you are interested and I will keep you posted.

And, last but not least, Bargain Hunting 101 is now accepting vendor applications for their February event:

Open Letter to Vendors & Stores!

Hello, Etsy peeps & creative souls!

As many of you may know, we are continuing with the 2nd Fridays on Fremont - Fremont Fest in August was FANTASTIC! Because of the success of Fremont Fest, we have recently decided to expand the events in October and December to 2 and 3 day events, respectively. October's 2 day event will be a harvest festival theme, and the three day December event (10th - 12th) will include another shop hop; much like the event some of you were involved in on June 18th of this year. (Store owners, please let me know if you'd like to be included in December's shop hop and I will keep you posted!). If you know of someone who might appreciate an opportunity to participate, feel free to forward this email to them!

We are currently doing a call for vendors, so if you are interested I have included the information here for your perusal. The vendor fee remains $15 per table per day - a modest cost to cover some of the advertising for these ongoing events. We have had our event featured in PDXPipeline, Portland Mercury Northside Guide, Hollywood Star, BWNA Newsletter, on PDX Events, in the PDX Neatsheet, and have advertised in Portland Picks, just to name a few. We are constantly striving to generate more buzz and provide a great value to our vendors.

Recently I met with the PDX Etsy group, and many from that meeting have expressed interest as well. If we have enough vendors for October, we can consider closing down part of the street to traffic - something that was done this August to rave reviews for our Fremont Fest.

Please email me for the application, and fill out & return to Jackie Safko at Albina Bank if you'd like to participate!

As always, I am dedicated to providing assistance, networking and general support to our Etsy & handcraft vendors, and the community of shops who support them!  Please let me know if you have any questions, ideas, or suggestions. I love to hear from you!
